2006-2007 Church Expansion

  • December '06 - January '07 "New Year = New Looks": The Holiday period allowed for the complete "drying-in" of the building and beginning of finishing touches such as brick and drywall. Also, the men of the church took advantages of pretty, but cold Saturdays, to self-perform some of the roof and landing decking. Click here to view to view photos of the months' progress.

  • November 2006 "Taking Shape": From young to old, everyone was able to really start to envision the future look of the new sanctuary as interior wall frames and the exterior shell was completed. Warm temps allowed for tours and gazing, as well as corporate prayer circle by the entire congregation within the new sanctuary. Click here to view photos for the month's progress.

  • October 2006 "Building Basics": The month of October was filled with many basic construction activities. Milestone events included the roof installation, pouring of the concrete pad, and early framing of exterior walls. Also, during the month, aerial photos were taken, courtesy of the Vick family. • August 23 "Church Rendering View": The church Planning Committee presented a rendering view of the new sanctuary for public viewing. Click here to view.
  • August 18-19 "Steel Building Erection": A volunteer effort of Dripping Spring men and a handful of other special guests pulled together to erect the steel building frame within 48 hours, beginning August 18 at 7:00 am and wrapping up on August 19 around 7:00 pm. Approximately fifty men participated with the construction, off and on over the two day event. Also, nearly two dozen women prepared meals, snacks, drinks, and ice cream for all the workers. The Lord blessed the gathering and protected all from any injury . The first piece of steel installed is shown at right. To see additional pictures of the steel building erection, check out this slide show.
  • August 7 "Steel Building Arrives": A monumental and critical path item arrived on site in the early morning hours of August 7. To see additional pictures of the steel building delivery, check out this slide show.

  • July "Foundation Work Begins": Every good house must be built upon a good foundation, and God's house is no exception. Through intense heat and humidity, our foundation contractor began the footer excavation, followed by the rebar installation and pouring of concrete. To see additional pictures of the foundation work, check out this slide show.
  • March 6 "Construction Begins": Earthwork and Building Pad preparation begins with heavy equipment.
  • February 26 "Groundbreaking Ceremony": "Glory to God in the highest," (Luke 2: 14a). "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3: 1)." "Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it (Psalm 127 1a)." "Then answered I them, and said unto them, the God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: (Nehemiah 2: 20)." Appropriate verses read aloud by Bro. James Cox during a special event in the life of Dripping Spring Baptist Church.

What do you say about February 26, 2006? What do you say when you just have the most perfect day that you can have? A soul rescued from the grasp of Satan, one to come join us by letter, multiple families in the altar, shedding of tears, encouragement from our brethren within the church, visitors, outstanding music and praise, the perfect weather for a groundbreaking, delicious food, wonderful fellowship, and the Holy Spirit of God moving amongst us. What else can you say but "GLORY!?" Oh how we praise Him for all that He has done for us. It was definitely a "Day of Significance" in the life and history of Dripping Spring Missionary Baptist Church. One in which we must never forget. One in which must be told to the next generation.

Words do not describe how thankful we all must be for all that He alone has done. When we're willing, obedient, and faithful to His leadership and direction we need not expect anything but glory for Him and blessings for us. February 26th was all about Jesus Christ- "the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence (Colossians 1: 18)." What a Savior!
